Twisted, 2010
Site specific intervention, spray paint on zebra crossing, twister game board, red street light, 2 or more players, variable dimensions, Rennes (FR)
A red light offers a gap of 30 seconds in which the pedestrians own the street. What can take place in that spam of time? How can this space and its function be challenged or altered? The game of twister is used as an excuse to explore these questions, to occupy this space meant for passing by. The players play while at the same time attempting to cross to the other side, which proofs to be quite difficult as they continuously have to go back and start all over again when the light turns red. Thus they are trapped in a loop were both the functions of the space and of the game are never fulfilled.
